We Have Already Seen...

Jack Russell had discovered his family's deepest, darkest secret...lycanthropy (that's turning into a werewolf, kiddies)!
To learn more, he journeys to the family's ancestral home, Russoff Manor...in Transylvania!
And if that doesn't send a chill down your spine, you're reading the wrong blog!
And so the story ends...for now!
But, we promised that you could enjoy the first half-century-old live-action dramatization of this tale!
So here's what you do...
  1. Command-Click HERE to open the previous chapter of this blog...leaving this window open so both are on-screen
  2. Command-click HERE to open an mp3 of the audio drama!
  3. Press "PLAY", read along and enjoy!
It's like a podcast with visuals!
This is Power Records' Curse of the WereWolf #PR-17, adapting elements from the following comics...
Marvel Spotlight #2 (1972)

Werewolf by Night #15 (1974)
It'll be interesting to see if the Disney+/Marvel production of Werewolf by Night follow's though on this aspect of Jack Russell's curse!

Errr...no.
More likely, this tale...which utilizes part of the Marvel Spotlight story...along with other, surprising tales...as you shall learn!

What does he discover?
Find out Wednesday!

One hint:
What did Marvel do better than anybody else during the Silver and Bronze Ages?

Werewolf By Night is Coming...But Which One?

A week from today, a movie will debut on Disney+...

...based on a Marvel comic.
But, did you know there there have been a couple of quite different "Werewolf by Night" storylines!
This is the first one...
...a never-reprinted scary story published in Atlas' Marvel Tales #116 (1953)!
Illustrated by penciler William Wellman and inked by Jack Abel.
The writer is unknown.
OK, it's really more "cute" than scary.
Ironic since it was created during the horror comics craze of the early 1950s, and the cover by Joe Maneely promised a far more terrifying tale!
It's more likely that the movie is based on the second, long-running series created in the early 1970s...
This never-reprinted background featurette from Marvel's Monster Madness #3 (1973) magazine will give you an idea of what the series was about.
